Explore the collection LAPARICA X SEWING TOGETHER
Sewing Together is a unique educational program designed to teach you how to sew, design, create sewing patterns, but also to train you in the elements of business. It allows women facing economic hardship to achieve independence. This program was created in 2018 by Maja Kotal. It has already had editions in Uganda and Kenya.
Collection Laparica x Sewing Together was founded in Mombasa, in a small atelier in the Bamburi district. Today it is taught by 5 extraordinary women: Saida, Jenny, Ethel, Bella and Maureen. They are the creators of the colorful dresses, kimonos and tunics that you can find in the Laparica store. To create this collection we used 100% cotton: Kreton and KikoiIt is a hand-woven material used by tribes in Kenya to tie around the waist. Each garment has its own character, is unique and sewn with love. I believe there are no mistakes in the art of coloring, only originality!
